Black And White

I must say I got the idea to post a music vid from the lovely Jansen Trahan, but I feel like this video could give us some cool inspiration for our shoot. I know we are going for a more high fashion vibe and she isn't dressed too high fashiony but when she is against the brick wall or checker board, I thought it provided a cool textural background like we all talked about. Also the shadows of the shapes on her face like at 1:01 and 1:10 ish, I thought would be a cool beauty/head shot or something along those lines.

primary point

For the primary point shoot, maybe instead of shooting against a white backdrop or a solid colored backdrop we might want to consider implementing mixed media in our shoot? Maybe painted backdrops might be a cool idea?

Countdown to Pastel Promise

Beyonce's Countdown video is chock full of color.  To me, the most beautiful shots are the dance scenes in which the colors are mostly muted, save for a few dim hues, which makes the colors really pop.  A lot from this video could be used as inspiration for the Primary Point shoot as well.

primary color ideas for shooting in the studio

In case anyone isn't aware of the nuances of color theory (I definitely wasn't), here's a link to a site with a great explanation of what the different color harmonies are http://www.tigercolor.com/color-lab/color-theory/color-harmonies.htm

In pretty much every single color harmony described, you're supposed to let one color dominate. I thought it might be a cool idea to use these color harmonies in a way that an outfit is composed of various shades of a single dominant color, while the background (perhaps just a solid color?) is composed of the harmonious color(s). I think a good example of what I'm trying to get at is the picture Danish posted below of the red and yellow bunching bags against the green backdrop. The photos David posted of the models against the yellow backdrop are also good examples of what I'm trying to express (I like the idea of largely monochromatic outfits).
